I have a volvo 5.7 gipmda with a couple of issues. First the high pressure fuel pump is putting out 18 psi the specs are 13 psi max. Also I can not set the timing any less than 20 degrees advanced or the engine stalls the spec for timing is 8 degrees advanced. I have disconnected the feed line from the fuel reservoir to the tbi and blown through it and I disconnected the return line from the tbi to the reservoir and blown through it. So I know there is no restrictions there. What would cause the increase in fuel pressure and would this affect the timing. Are these two separate problems or could they be linked somehow? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
