6 cylinder chevy inboard engine that will crank over but will not fire. any answers?

i have an 6 cylinder chevy engine inboard and can not figure out why it is not firing. the engine will spin over but no fire from the coil to the distibuter. i really need some help here. the boat ran fine but has been sittin for about six months now and having these problems. any answers? i purchased a new coil and distributer and points and still nothing. i have also replaced ignition swith as well

Ayuh,.... Start at the Points,...

Are they properly set,..??

Is there Power to 'em,..??

Is the distributor properly Grounded,..??
 
will do bondo ill try it and see what it will do.thx
when i checked the other day it had no power to the coil.

might wanna check the ballast resistor or the resistance wiring if there's no B+ on the coil's + terminal...
 
thanks makomark. if i run a hot wire from the battery to the + side of the coil and spin it over and it fires then it may be the ignition switch correct?
 
if you checked the list Bondo was kind enough to provide and they are ok, I'd put a voltmeter on the primary side of the coil before I'd put a jumper wire on it
