time to swap out a cooked force 50 hp and hook up a nice 100 hp Johnson to my pontoon boat. need to haul motor 2 hrs to my house and have hired guy to help me get it right, any suggestions? How to transport? use chains and engine hoist? how to get new controls , cables wiring ect....? Thanks

well, so far, I ve found out the motor has precast lift eyes moulded for lifting- then i need a 2 ft chain- pick-up truck with two tires- one for lower end and one to support power head without hood on-im also looking at purchasing a lifting eye for flywheel area to prevent slippage into critical engine components, call the johnson dealer for exact cables, harness and control; for this motor- then me and an ole pro are goin to hook it up! think a two ton engine lift should be a good choice to make final alignment to transom - not my backhoe- to delicate and precise an opperation ,tiny slip i could wipe out my aluminum transom- keep ya posted- need to learn how to post pictures?
