so my bf35a won't go pass 4,000 rpms while on the water. It starts and idles without problems but the minute give it throttle the motor starts to vibrate and as you start to increase the throttle under a load it won't go past 4,000 rpm. But the minute you caveat the prop it runs normal and you can feel a surge in power and runs fine at full throttle. Any ideas what wrong?

Does it run okay in neutral with RPM's up around 2000? If so, then you may have a bent, broken, or spun prop. A spun prop happens when the big rubber bushing between drive hub and the prop hub breaks loose. Sometimes hard to detect, but look for crumpled or distorted rubber on either side of the big rubber bushing where it interfaces with the hubs.
