Can't find the model number of my GT200 Johnson. I was told it is a 1989 model.

Hi

i am trying to find out the years of my twin Johnson 200 ocean runners, I have check on the mount and come see that there was no label with serial number model number or year. I check on the engine block and found a number on a silver circle plate of the engine block starting with G example (G01230456) and wonder, Can I determine the year from this number and model? Where would I go to search for this info?
