Hi Guys, I have a Rodman with twin KAMD 42A, the Glow plug light comes on when running, does not seem to have any effect on the running but would like to know why and also how to repair ? any ideas please.

Check the relay for the glow plugs, or a short in the glow plug wire. Also determine if the glow plugs are getting power when the light is on, or just the light.

As the glow plugs on this engines are not standard equipement, are you sure you have glow plugs mounted?, can it be that some previous owner has used this warning lamp for something else?

you are risking damage to the engine with power continously applied to the glow plugs. yes it will run ok.....but.....glow plugs do not tolerate continous voltage. what happens.....the tips will swell and can seperate and damage a piston top, or, they can swell to the point they stop operating and they cannot be removed because the tip is larger than the glow plug hole. you can still forcefully remove the glowplug, but the tip will remain....then you have to remove the head. if you must, start the motor, then kill the power to the glow plug relay while running.
