how to replace the bearings on an OMC sterndrive 120hp 1973 electric shift i think

anyone have a trick to remove the nut on the lower unit to change the bearings
is there a tool to hold the shaft
where do i get an old water pump

pics posted of the foot

There is a special socket that fits the lower driveshaft.----But you can use some shimstock and a vicegrip to hold it.
