date that engine

another one for the experts as my google foo has failed me, maybe it's scottish google is just pants. suzuki 9hp long shaft, engine number dt7a13187.
at a rough guestimate i would assume it is circa 1970's

runs well enough but i would like to fit remotes if possible and need to try and find fitting kits etc, prob going to end up modifying a set for another motor or making my own.

found it... :rolleyes: i realy should read a bit more before posting, found a link to here http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/site/573683/page/599293 and it would appear that mines is at the top of the page, circa 1975.

im a wee bit miffed as i originaly bought it as a late 80's motor and will probably struggle to get parts , ahhh well you live and learn i suppose.

you get parts easy enough if you shop around on the net.
to fit remotes you can just use almost anything.
dont be fooled into just thinking you need suzuki stuff for remotes, i had mercury remotes on a suzuki and also omc stuff.
its just a matter of watching th fittings and making a few bodged up bits.
Now being scots you should be well capable of a bit of bodgeneering and money saving with the boat
you just need very simple stuff for forward neutral and reverse.
the elictric stop button is asimple bit of 2 wire cable and a kill switch
(do make sure you fit a kill switch, it realy can save your life)

now go search for some nice cheap remotes to get your project on the move.
