2006 225XL 4S tale tale looses pressure

Hooked water to the washout and put the muffs on it to run it and after about 3-5 minutes the tale tale lost pressure and almost quit. I cut off and the water started flowing again. Any thoughts?
 
Pull the hose off at the engine...if water gushes out of the nipple then the rubber hose is plugged w/a spider nest...run a coat hanger thru it. Thermostat working?
