90 Force pwoer trim trouble shooting

I have a power tilt trim unit on my 1991 90hp force unit works fine, but slowly falls down and will not stay up. Checked the fluid level and pumped the motor up and down to release any possible air. Sometimes does take a second to catch up to itself?

Just don't know which part to trouble shoot? pump, res, lifts? do they sell rebuild kits? Could be and expensive process of elimination.

No they don't sell repair kits. You have a manual?The factory manual has test procedures to tell if it's the pump or the tilt ram. Usually the hyd.pump part of the motor needs rebuilding. There is a guy on here, RRitt he can tell you what to do to fix it or he can rebuild it. If he doesn't answer soon go to iboats . com and the Force Forum. He's there a lot.
