Anthore newbie question Oil psi

02 mercruiser 5.0. When the motor is cool and idleing oil psi is around 40. Once it gets up to temp and im driving around the oil psi stays at 40psi once I put it back to idle and stop the oil psi drops to 20psi, throttle back up it goes back to 40psi and stays. Does this normal?
 
What kinda oil are most people running? i was looking at Mobil 1 15W50 synthetic. I emailed mericruiser they told me to you use 25W40 synthetic blend oil. any thoughts? Im in texas so warm weather
 
Mobil 1 15W50 synthetic is what I use in my boat
10-30 mobile one in my truck
20-50 mobile one in my motorcycle.

If you like to use what they reccomend than it will work just fine.

Just change it every 100 hours or each season which ever comes first.
 
the military uses mobil 1 in the abrams tank......thats quite an investment that they are protecting..... thats good enough for me. mobil 1......!!
