Vacuum guage....Mercruiser 228

How can I connect a vacuum guage to the inlet manifold of a Mercruiser 228 fitted with a 4MV Quadrajet carburetter? Thanks in advance for any info.
 
Look at the top rear area on the intake for a plug. Remove it and install a nipple that you can cap off. I did that on my old 4.3L so I could adjust the idle mix w/a vacuum gauge. If there isn't one there remove the carb and drill/tap a hole for one. I would lay a small magnet covered by a greased rag in the manifold to catch the metal shavings. Don't forget to remove the rag and magnet.
