Ford Lehman 4D254 with Velvet DriveRebuild

I am considering purchase of a boat with the 4D254 80HP engine and a Velvet Drive that have been submerged and need to be rebuilt. I have the parts price list from American Diesel but need to know how many labor hours it will be to do a complete rebuild of the engine and what hourly rate I should budget for a rebuild in the southeast. Also any information on how much it should cost to rebuild the Velvet Drive would be appreciated. I know I could just get in touch with a local rebuilder, but I would rather come armed with information.
Thanks

hi sailor 1842,
time estimate would be very difficult as there may be several parts requiring total teardown and rebuilding due to rust. believe it or not most crankshafts can be reused without cutting and same is true for camshafts and bearings but if it sat with slt water in it thats a whole new ball game! transmissions have areas where if water gets in it doesn't come out without a complete teardown.
