2002 BF225 Vertical Bushing Replacement?

I have been reading a few posts on vertical bushing failures and saw a few ugly pictures of the damage caused by a failure. I currently have my lower unit off to replace the water pump. Any opinions on whether or not my bushings need to be replaced?

From what I can tell , it looks like the rubber has started to migrate into the "C" opening. I'd replace it while you have access to it. You'll most likely need to clean the corrosion and salt deposits where that thing sits after you get it out.
