    Default Trolling motor thrust and horsepower

    What would the horsepower of a 90 pound thrust trolling motor; if not actual conversion is possible, your best guess will be okay?

    a 2.5 hp 2 cycle will give a pull equal to a 70-90 pound trolling motor but there are variables there such as prop selection on both...don't expect the same performance though....the outboard will have greater early torgue on acceleration and slightly better speed after the boat is moving...

    early torque in the motor itself must be to the Electric motors advantage without competition?
    Electric motors are unrivaled on torque?
    not even Close for petrol Engines?

    Not sure ofcourse, but just thinking of recent talk on hybrid cars and such....
