head gasket additional l water hole

i am in the process of rebuilding a sbc 350 in the process of pre fitting all components engine block is a 1977 problem is the marine gaskets from fel pro recommend drilling a additional water hole in the block between the center cylinders has anyone done this i am asking because i have the cam bearings already installed and i am not to keen on drilling holes with a block that is ready to assemble thanks

If there isn't a matching hole in the head ? I wouldn't do it. :)

Somebody sold you the hi-perf gaskets for a 400, not the 350 marine ones...I'd get the correct ones and keep the bits in the index.
 
Mark is very likely correct.

BTW, the 6.5L (400 cu in) head gasket bore dimension will be 4.125". The 5.7L will be 4.000" unless first over.
Measure the gasket bore diameter, and you'll know if you were given the wrong gasket set.
