Trouble with Nissan 30hp

My 2002 Nissan 30HP outboard four stroke was running fine. I ran upon a sand bar and it cut off. It restarted and thereafter would only operate a little higher than idle. If pushed much beyone idle, it would start to accellerate, then back down to idle. Any ideas? It sounds like a sensor of some kind.

The only sensors on that motor are overheat and low oil pressure. Assuming neither of those are alarming, a sensor is not your problem. If the motor's RPM increases but boat speed soes not, you probably have a spun prop hub, and will need a new prop.
