Inboard Outboard conversion to outboard

Have an old Sea ray 170 I/O w

Have an old Sea ray 170 I/O with no motor but have access to a few yamaha outboards.Is it plusible or posible to remove all inboard components and convert I/O to outboard

"sure. make sure You have a solid transom before You begin. brackets are available that bolt to the transom. You'll have to plug the hole, or find one that covers it. some brackets are built like a box and depending on boat, and motor dimensions, may work."

Looks to me that that " outboard unit " used to be an inboard. So now it is back to the way it used to be.

have ripped pod off, glad i did rot was setting in
still have to make it 12 deg its 6 deg at the moment.
funny how whats simple when you dream it turns out to be a long project with things arount every corner.
