The motor runs fine and cranks, but now when go past 5 or 6 MPH the motor keeps spinning but the propeller stops(or loses power) like it slips out of gear. I can pull back to just above idle and it will start going again.
Is this something that can be fixed are find parts for or is the motor done for?

Sounds like the props hub has spun.
Take it to a local marina or boat repair shop.
They can send it out to be re-hubbed.
Or look up prop repair in your neighborhood.
They still sell props to replace the one you have.
I think this site sells them???
