"Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster. I had a 77 9.9 Evenrude and always used 50:1 fuel mix. I just acquired an 86 Johnson 15 longshaft and there is a little sticker right next to the fuel inlet that says "100:1". I'm a bit leary about this...
Can anybody offer any assistance here? I want it to run good and not foul plugs, but at the same time I want to make sure it gets proper lubrication. I always use 87 octane, TWC3 oil and the correct ration of STA-BIL at all time. I was thinking of going 75:1 just to be safe???
Thanks in advance.
Also, can I still get the twist grip "throttle cable" for that motor? The motor revs up when I lift the handle. Cable seems to be binding in handle.

"use 50/1 mix. 100/1 was a bad idea and O.M.C. doesn't recommend it anymore. parts should be no problem for Your motor, just get model/ serial number and call any dealer, or post here and someone will give you a part#"
