KAD42A Alternator not charging

New alternator, has been tested. D terminal is getting 7.75V (exciter) 3.75V after starting. W terminal to Tachometer.
B- terminal is grounded. O+ terminal connects direct to battery isolator.
O+ measures no voltage when ignition on and no voltage after starting.
When connected direct to battery (bypass isolator) alternator works.
I have replaced isolator and still no charge.
I believe the o+ terminal has to see 12 volts to operate? Should O+ get input from other source?

I have a similiar problem - Port engine on TAM 63 is overcharging with new and rechecked alternator and new battery. Flashing battery idiot light also.

Wish someone would respond!

Are you sure that the O+ terminal isn't the exciter terminal? Would that explain why it works only with the isolator removed?? Where is the 7.75v coming from? That seems like a strange voltage to see. Have you a seperate multi step regulator, or is it built into the alternator?
