1990 Force 120 hp is misfiring in idle

I have 1990 Force 120 hp outboard that is misfiring in idle postion. I put it in gear and it keeps misfiring till I push the trottle little more then the misfiring stops . Do you think it's one of the carbs causing the problem ? I put new plugs in and it ran without misfiring for just little bit then it started misfiring again at idle . Need anyones thoughts on what to look for ?

First do a compression test.Then a spark test.
Then the carbs have an air screw on the side of the carb.
Turn them in to the bottom(gently)then out 1 and 1/16 turn.
Then if it still misses.
Clean the carbs and while they are off check the reeds.
While your working rebuild the fuel pump.Probably nothing wrong,just for general maint.
