1994 5.7 marine power eng here is the ? im looking for zink in tank?this has dripless seals on shaft.hose goes to tank with clear hose.it looks to me that the zink was taken out.and fitting put in dripless fitting.if so thats ok but what do you do for the zink?the bolt on the end cap rotted of on the inside.causing cap to leak.do you think no zink caused this?any help would be great.thanks

I have a front mounted heat exchanger on 350 and PSS. My zinc is on top right when looking at heat exchanger from front of engine. The PSS hose is run from the drain on the bottom left of the tank. A corroded bolt could very well be because of galvanic corrosion. What was the bolt material? Did somebody change it?

Heat usually helps but if the HX is full of water, it will take a long time. An impact tool is another option.

if you are afraid of screwing up, you can always remove the HX - only costs time and antifreeze.

For the most part, those fittings are pretty tough.
