1969-70 merc 50hp 2 stroke- how to remove lower unit driveshaft? Please help!!!!

I have swap a short shaft for a long shaft, I took water pump out, I released snap ring off
driveshaft above bearing, but still can't figure out how shaft comes out, any help would be
greatly appreciated, thanks!
 
There is a nut on the bottom of the driveshaft that must be removed.--------Swapping shafts may mean some shimming must be done.---------------This is not a 10 minute job.
 
Remove prop.------Remove propshaft bearing housing and you will see the nut.--------Bearings may need to be shimmed for gears to mesh properly.
