Engine Cover insulation Chrysler 45

I bought a Chrysler 45, 1979 model, and I can see that there was insulation of some kind on the inside
of the engine cover. These engines are a little noisy, and even with No insulation, (sound-proofing) the
cover cuts the noise about in half. I'd bet that with the proper insulation material and proper thickness,
the engine would be fairly quiet. Do any of you guys n gals know the proper material?

A close cell foam.
Most marine store can recomend something.
They might sell something here.
Most people make sure it doesn't come off or fall apart again.
It can cause some serious damage if caught in the reeds or blocks the carb.
