Power Head swap

Charger25

New here and like to start off by saying Hi.
Heres my dilemma, i've got two 25 hp rudes, one is a mid eighties, model # is long worn off, it has a split lower unit and the kill switch is in the handle not on the front. number on the expansion plug is G2624440.
The second is a mid nineties no model # anywhere, # on the expansion plug in the block is G3265397. Can I swap power heads? The 90's had a seized piston and the 80's had a bad lower unit. ANY info would be great. Thanks.

Sorry about the double post. Well I found out that the answer yes, but you need to swap out the whole head. Which I going to do anyway.

go to home page and look at the parts schematic for your number and write down the # for ur crank and cylinder ass. Then go forward year by year and find a match...

I take it there's 6 bolts( 4 bolts n 2 studs) that hold the head on, got 'em all out and head still won't come off. Don't want to beat on it too much so whats the secret? :(
