"I have a super clean 1972 Fis

"I have a super clean 1972 Fisherman 6hp that will not reach full rpm's with the cowling on. I installed a new thermostat, spark plugs, gear oil, water pump impeller, exhaust cover gasgets, power head gasget, removed checked and cleaned the carb. All factory parts. With the cowling on it won't come up to full rpm's. Remove it and it speeds up no problem. Need help with this one. Matt."

"I originally had a cooling problem. There was a clump of sand stuck in the water tube. When I removed the power head I was able to blow it out.While the powerhead was off, it was just a maintainance factor to remove the exhaust cover and check the plate behind it.Everything else was done as regular service. I did not rebuild the carb. Just removed it,disaasembled, blew air through all the jets and orifices and reassembled. Matt."
