intermediate shift shaft on alpha question?

Hi, I am wondering if there is supposed to be an o-ring seal on the intermediate shaft on an alpha 1 drive? There is a bushing in the upper housing that the intermediate shaft slides down through with a washer and a cotter pin on the bottom. is that it? or a seal in there somewhere?. :confused:any help will be greatly appreciated.

There is a seal /bushings , but no oring , and it is a very loose fit.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I had the same question
Googled , and found a close uP picture
 
Thank you for the info, I checked it out further on exploded views and seen that there was no seal, just the bushing. The seal is in the lower gearcase. Thanks again for the reassurance floatin radio. much appreciated.
