I have a 1979 50hp thunderbolt ignition that i am having problems with. I took it to the mechanic and had the carbs rebuilt the spark plugs changed and they said the compression and spark are good. When i take it out in the water it acts funny. When i put the throttle down to get on step it seems like the prop isnt spinning as fast as the motor is running? Full throttle i might be going 15 mph. The other day when i was coming back the motor started putterin and i lost all speed until i put it in neutral then it was fine for a minute then lost speed again as it start puttering. Any ideas? Is the lower unit trashed?
