Remote control?

Hey guys,

New problem I have with my Force 125. Nothing wrong with the actual outboard this problem is towards my remote control for the outboard. When trying to shift into forward gear it slips out of gear and then forward. So say you just want to rev up your engine a bit to warm it up and you have it in neutral and you slide the control out to take it of gear....ok, well my control tends to do that when I have it in gear and putting into forward throttle..

Hope someone can help.. I'm really thinking I have to buy a whole new set up but was asking to maybe see if its something minor that can be fixed.

Unhook the connectors at the motor.
Then shift it back and forth.Then move the shift linkage in and out of gear.
Then see where they align.
Then adjust the connectors to match the motor.
Try this.
Then look at the shifter for loose or wore out.
It 's rare that a shifter goes bad,it happenes but rare.J
