rectifier vs regulator

the rectifier is a nit compared to an engine overheating that we can get back to later.....i would install a new pump including the housing for the impeller...i would also back off and check compression on the engine...its possible that you have a bad temp sensor but why take the chance?....when was the last water pump put in the engine?
 
impeller and gaskets replaced last fall. compression check done and was 115 on all 3 cyl. this work done by a merc mechanic. I have a over heat module from my '92 merc 60hp and I will install it. lets see what happens. I learn more and more each day.tks.
