after looseing the set bolt on the v drive flange how tightshould the shaft be?i was able too pull it back kind of easy i have heard it should be like and interference fit? IS this true?also the shaft is brass and the dimple for the set screw is kind of long gated can this be repaired at a prop shop?and help would be great thanks bcclew
 
it should be snug, with just a bit of resistance. A rubber mallet should b adequate. The set screw's dimple suggests the fit isn't snug enough on th shaft. The idea is that the shaft and the coupler need to fit tight enough to maintain a common center.

A good prop shop should be able to resolve any fit issues...only drawback is you have to pull the shaft & take it to the shop.
