Rev limiter light

I have a 115 4 stroke 2006 Suzuki engine that powers a triumph boat.
The red rev limit light in the dash board stays on all the time. The engine does not seem to have any problems and performs normal. I tried the service reset procedure several times but it did not eliminate the light. What can I do. Should I be concerned of the engine?

This problem started for me this past weekend on a 2009 DF100 with the same symptoms. Rev limit light stays on after initial start, seems to get a little dim, but stays lit with no performance hit that is supposed to go with the rev limit system being activated. No other blinking lights for codes and no other adverse indications on motor or in the tach. I would sure like to get some clue on this before I resign myself to paying the dealer or a tech to hook up the Suzuki Diagnostic System.
