Walbro LMB-214 availability or replacement???

Anyone know who of a suitable & readily available substitute for the Walbro LMB-214 which is now as rare as rocking horse manure? The venturi size is 28/64" (7/16"). It is for a 1979-1980 Force 6hp twin cylinder 2-stroke. I am told by Walbro that any LMB carb that has a similar sized venturi - up to 1/2" will work since it is for a small engine. I realize that I may have to modify the linkages if I cannot find an LMB-214 or other LMB carb so any advice will be helpful.

Thanks.

Hey! What happened to "If it ain't broke ...."

I'm still learning how this forum works. Wrote an update & thanks for info earlier today - it does not show on the thread. Sorry!

Update: Found Mr Franz via referral from Walbro's tech guy (Lui - I think). Mr F had a rebuilt LMB 214 for $100 which is on its way to me. Hopefully that should fix it. Yes carb was an ethanol victim. I just got the motor & when I took the carb apart the part of the body that holds the float shaft just crumbled . Will update when Mr F's carb is installed.

Thanks too additional resources - I have a number of other boats & motors including a 1954 Johnson 5.5 hp Sea Horse, an air cooled 3 hp Sea King (Clinton K300), & so on. I was compiling a list of new/used small outboard parts suppliers so those helped a lot!

Thanks again,

Nick

What you do is hire a local kid with strong hands.
Get a spray bottle, fill with gas/oil and have the kid start spraying in the throat.
When you want to go faster have the kid pick up the pace and viola instant carb replacement!!!!
Just funnin,No thoughts on a replacement.J
