70 HP Yamaha Model Year???

I am posting this for a friend, I don't have access to the serial numbers for this engine. So......if one of the more earned Yamaha authorities
could do a visual "best guess" the year or model number of this engine, I would surely appreciate it!HPIM1537.jpg

Whats left of the old decal reads "precision blend" on the side, if that helps narrow it down.

Can't you find the S/N on either of the case halves where they join or on the soft plug in the powerhead.

Sorry, the photos were sent to me. The motor is a few hundred miles away, I informed the lady who owns the motor in the first, second, and third emails, that the serial numbers would be essential to narrow this down. She can not find them on the engine, so I thought, as a shot in the dark, the engine might be recognizable within a two or three year span.

It looks like the decals are rather old school, so I considered that they maybe unique to particular year.
