Default Is the brand name for 2-cycle oil important ?

I have a 1998 mercury 150 hp 2-cycle. Would you recommend the "super tech" oil brand or should i use a more expensive brand.

I've used super tegh oil for years with no problems. I have a freind that will use only oil made by motor manufacturer. I have an 84 year model 150hp Evinrude and a 2005 Mercury 50 hp.My friend says i'm killing my motors, but both still have near new compression and run well. I am comforttable using super tech.

I guess Super Tech is WW branded oil. May be supplied by Warren Oil co. which does a lot of oil under a lot of labels for a lot of big gun customers. I use and have no problems with WW lubes. I use Pennzoil Premium TC-W3 that I also buy at WW and it's a synthetic blend which smokes very little and works for me.
