Can anyone identify my make and model just from pics

Bought this outboard about 3 weeks ago off ebay ,was sold as a 40hp yamaha ,but im not too sure ,any info or ideas would be gratefully accepted ,there is a tag that is worn on the starting motor but no other identifying marks grrrrrr...many thanks DeanDSC_0036.jpgDSC_0037.jpgDSC_0038.jpgDSC_0039.jpg:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
What you have there is an outboard motor. I am pretty sure about that.

If there are no identifying marks that you have seen. check the welsh plugs on side of block. they should have a number stamped into them. take those numbers to a dealer they can identify your motor from them. Helps to know the brand to begin with.
 
Thanks for input Big Daddy ,dont understand welsh plugs but found number on block 65600 and where plugs go into head there is a stamp 66400 also on top of pully is 65601 ,think it is a yamaha but need to know what model to source parts ,cheers ...
