Water Pump -- 4-stroke vs 2-stroke

I recently replaced the water pump in my 2005 Merc 60HP 4-stroke. It was my first time making this repair. My friend has a 2004 Merc 60HP 2-stroke and he wants me to help him change his water pump. He has never made this type repair. My question is: Is there a difference in removing and replacing the lower unit and is there a difference in the water pumps between my engine and his engine?
