Default 1960 Sea King GG8822A Compatibility

I am new here just bought a 1960 Sea King GG8822A and need to know what is compatibitiable with it when looking for parts. For now I will start with a propeller for it. But if someone can send me part numbers link for later referance that would be nice also and save on some work later.

    Thanks
    Cary

I've been watching to see if someone answered as I don't have the answer. But someone at the "Antique Outboard Motor Collectors" club site will.
Go to the "Ask A Member" forum and post Your question.

http://www.maxrules.com/models/OMC_m...Drive/gale.pdf It is a 5hp and is the same engine as the Gale buccaneer #5D17B maxrules would be able to help you with parts. I believe the ignition would be the same as 1960 evinrude/johnson but the water pump may be different IDK.

You can get all the tune up, carb and water pump parts here just use the part numbers listed in the 1960 evinrude 5.5 parts schematics.

Those are air fuel adjustments in general you want to preset the slow out 1 1/2 turns from lightly seated all the way in clockwisre then back out 1 1/2 turns and fast you want to preset it at 3/4 of a turn out. Start the engine and bring it up to temp you want it in the water and in forward gear at an idle, slowly turn the slow knob out until the engine loads up running rich then back in until it starts to cut out then back out slow for a smooth idle. Wait about 20 seconds every time you adjust it. Once you get a nice smooth idle turn the slow out another 1/4 turn rich and then center the knob stop to stop. Then point the boat toward the middle of the lake and open the throttle all the way and just adjust the fast for the highest smooth rpm possible. then center the fast knob stop to stop. It can be a little tricky at first figuring out to set the screw and turn the knob but after a bit you will figure it out just allow the engine to stabilize after every adjustment and make sure the idle stop screw is working good you will need to adjust the idle speed as you adjust the idle air.
