My dad has an old clinton outboard motor in his shop that he wants me to sell on the internet for him. Most of the paint has worn off and it's in need of restoration, but it does still run. Based on some pictures we've seen on the internet we think it might be a 1968 BJ9 3.5 hp, though we're not completely sure (identifying the model has been difficult since it's so worn). Does anyone know a good way to confirm that it is this model if we can't read the serial number? Also, any suggestions on what something like this might be worth to someone who would want to restore it?
