Connection points for battery cables on Optis

Do you mean 225 optimax outboard engines and where do you attach the positive and negative leads of the engine harness? If you make these connections incorrectly you will cause some major electronic damage...$$$$$. The pos. lead should attach to one of the large studs on the starter solenoid--it will have a few small gauge red wires already attached. The other large stud will have a large gauge cable between it and the insulated stud on the side of the starter. You should see the grounding bolt close by. Go look at an engine at a dealer display and take a few pictures.
 
Not new to mechanics by a long shot or the offshore fishing thing, but new to rigging outboards. Thanks so much for the input. Just needed to make sure. Didn't want to kiss an ecm goodbye.
