    Default 1987 mercury 50hp????

Ok guys, a 1987 mercury 50hp with power tilt and trim, wiring harness and controls, runs great, with new stainless prop. Whats it worth and is it a decent motor? Thanks!

    good compression.
    Whats it worth...
Whatever you are willing to pay for a 24 yr old OB motor. To me it's a $200 USED OB. Look it up on NADA.
...and is it a decent motor?
It kind of speaks for itself. Does it run?

That's a triple, and they have a poor resale value. (And for good reason: About 90 % of them that arrived in my shop had a fried top cylinder.) The tilt 'n trim unit is worth a good buck, however, and fits a bunch of Mercs.

They didn't. After the industry re-rated motors to reflect hp at the PROP versus the power head, the old 50 hp Merc 4 cylinder became a 40 hp. The triple then became their only 50 hp.
