Hey guys, doing valve cover gaskets and while they're off i'm going to torque down the rocker arm assemblies (slight clatter). I believe they are to be torqued down at 30lbs does that sound correct?? They're 1989 Chrysler LM318's.

i had the same problem and tightening the assemblies helped. Clean syn oil helped. As did a sea foam treatment. It has returned however. New lifters is next.
 
Thanks to all that replied. So far I've done one bank on each motor, had 30lbs ,but pushed it to 35lbs , dont want to push it much farther i'm afraid it will snap the bolt ! We'll see what she sounds like in the spring.
