Old Impeller Blades

Due to too much hurrying around coupled with plain stupidity, I recently fried my raw-water impeller after forgetting to open the seacock on my 135 Super Lehman. I've replaced the impeller and all seems to be well. However, most of the fins on the old impeller--or at least the tips of them--have disappeared. What's the best procedure for fishing these things out of the cooling system? Do I have to tear the whole thing apart?

Thanks in advance.

Bill, easiest way is remove sea water hoses from inlet and outlet of oil cooler. Connect or hold a garden hose to outlet side (hose to heat xchanger). You may need a pair of needle nose pliers to remove jammed pieces or a piece of clothes hanger bent on an angle. Also check inside the 90 degree brass ell at the pump .
