140hp 87 remote oil tank overflows into eng oil tank

:mad:My 1987 140HP Yam has a problem.The remote oil tank keeps pumping into the engine oil tank when the key is on.Even when I disconnect the oil sender elec plug at the engine-Any ideas
 
Yeah your float assembly is faulty or incorrectly installed. It has a switch in the float that shuts down the transfer pump. Check it. Disconnecting it tells it that it still needs oil.
 
We used to see a lot of the controllers go bad. That is the black box on the port side with the oil transfer switch on it.
