1982 mercury 85 hp trim compatable with 1986 mercury 75 hp trim

I just bought a 1982 85 hp mercury without trim and I have a 1986 75 hp mercury with trim and would like to put it on the 82 is it compatible ? will it work? anybody know for sure ? the 82 is a thunderbolt ignition also do I need to do any wiring changes? any help sure would be appreciated, thank you for your time
 
As far as I know, the last 85HP Mercury was in 1977. Don't have the info on match up. Sorry on both accounts.
