Question about Prop pitch on 6HP 4 stroke outboard

I have a 6 HP 4 stroke Mercury, I think its the same as the Tohatsu.
I find that it vibrates quite a lot at higher speed and I was wondering if I could change the propeller to one with less pitch to reduce vibration.
I use it to move my sailboat to get out of harbour. I usually have it at about half throttle.
High speed is not particularly important and I would welcome slower speed at the slow end if I could get it.
Would I be revving up too high if I put a different propeller on. Or would I damage my little motor in any way?
The world of outboard motors is a very mysterious one to me and I would be grateful for some advice.
Thanks
Christine

Christine,

There is a high-thrust sailboat prop available. 8.375 diameter x 6 pitch x 3 blades (it ships on the Tohatsu/Nissan 6hp Sail Pro model) 399B645121, $74.87 plus freight. The large, "elephant ear" blades tend to slow the motor down enough to not over-rev. Plus the additional thrust works very well on heavy loads (sailboats) at slower speeds (under 10 knots).

Is there a chance that if I put a larger prop it will strain the motor?
Another question
If I slow down the motor will it still be able to run at low speed and not stall.
Thank you
