5hp nissan 4 stroke stalling when put in gear

I just cleaned the carb which fixed the idle but now when i put it in gear it stalls right out. fule pump is in working order and carb is clean. what could be the issue here? I work at a boat rental/bait shop in NY and need some help with this issue. thanks

The carb is probably still running too lean. How did you clean the carb? What is the idle speed in RPM?
