04 225 No Power to Motor Any Ideas??

I've already spoke to a few techs and did the obvious. Cleaned battery terminals and checked fuse going to motor. But seems there may be a short from the boat to the motor. Stereo, VHF, and Spreaders all work on boat fine. Nothing that has to do with the motor is getting power.
Digital gauges are stock Yamaha aren't getting power either...

Please help Any Ideas????

Does the boat have a battery selector switch? Yamaha battery cables are black.are there two black cables connected dirrectly to battery. if not disconnect from selector switch connect dirrectly to positive on batt, ground should already run dirrectly from engine to battery. if still no power purchase a battery load tester [around 50 bucks] load test battery note voltage then connect to battery cables on engine if batt cables are your problem load testing will find it. however im doutfull yamaha cables are very good. make sure there are no large cables left unconnected in area of battery look closley. was a new battery installed recently? have you checked the fuses on the engine not at battery.located behind black plastic cover stbd side on engine the do not look like automotive fuses bar type exposed fusible link like thin strip of metal. post results please

This is as simple as it can get. Whip out your digital volt meter and start tracing from the battery to the motor. If there is a short you will see fuse blown or smoke. If you haven't mess around with the original wiring then there is a bad connection somewhere. If you recently mess around with the wiring then check to make sure you have all the wiring connected correctly.

Thanks Guys,
Ended up running jumper cables directly from the motor and to the battery. It had a bad ground from the motor to the boat.. This was driving me insane... Changed out terminal and boat runs fine again...

Appreciate your responses
