I own a 1997 Mercery 4hp, 2cycle outboard. Recently it stopped running... no spark! Made the normal test of pulling the plug, grounding it and pulling the cord.. still no spark. I belive that the condensor discharge ignition (CDI) box has died! The Mercery part number is 16061T04 and is very expensive. My question is will the lessor expensive parts for Tohatsu or Nissan ignition work in the Mercery?
